OVERVIEW:

This workshop aims to increase understanding of what is unlawful behaviour in the workplace including discrimination, bullying and harassment. It will support participants to comply with the law and create a positive, safe and respectful workplace culture.

Who should attend:  All employees including Managers.

PROGRAM CONTENT:

  • Overview of legislative framework regarding workplace behaviour covering what is (and is not) discrimination, bullying and harassment, including sexual harassment and sex-based harassment.
  • Understanding the new 'positive duty' on employers requiring proactive steps to be taken to eliminate sexual harassment and discrimination.
  • Understanding the potential impact of bullying and harassment on employees and the business.
  • Understanding the importance of early reporting of inappropriate behaviour and what employees can do if they have a concern?
  • What steps managers and complaint handlers should take in response to reports of bullying and harassment?
  • What employees and managers can do to develop a positive workplace culture and prevent issues arising.

  • Reasonable management action – tips on performance management to avoid bullying complaints
